Mechanism of Action

Most fatty acids needed for livestock and poultry can be obtained from feed, but certain short-chain fatty acids(such as butyric acid) are generally not available from feed. Short-chain fatty acids, especially butyric acid, play an important role in maintaining gut health of livestock and poultry.

▲ Butyric acid is a fast energy source for repairation of intestinal damage in livestock and poultry. It can rapidly decompose and release energy, promote chorionic membrane growth, and improve body's barrier function.

▲ Butyric acid can reduce the content of oxygen in the intestine, inhibit the proliferation of harmful bacteria, and promote the proliferation of beneficial bacteria such as lactic acid bacteria.

▲ Butyric acid can activate signal molecules of intestinal immune cells and improve the intestinal mucosa immunity.

Application Efficacy

1. As the main respiratory fuel for intestinal epithelial cells, it can rapidly supply energy to intestinal epithelial cells effectively promote the growth of intestinal mucosal cells, participate in the maintenance and repairation of intestinal mucosa, and maintain the integrity and function of intestinal mucosal cells.

2. It can increase the intestinal villus height, reduce the depth of crypts, increase the ratio of intestinal villus height and crypt depth, and improve the structure of the small intestine.

3. It can reduce intestinal pH, inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and Clostridium perfringens, promote the proliferation of beneficial bacteria of lactic acid bacteria, and regulate intestinal microecological balance of livestock and poultry.

4. It can promote intestinal mucosal secretion of antibodies and proliferation of immune cells, enhance livestock anti-stress and immunity, and reduce intestinal inflammation or other diseases.
